Katarzyna Opalińska was born on 13 October 1680, in Poznań, Poland. She was the daughter of Zofia Czarnkowska and Jan Karol Opaliński. Katarzyna Opalińska married Stanislaw Leszczyński (20 October 1677 - 23 February 1766) on 10 May 1698 in Kraków. He was the son of Anna Katarzyna Jablonowska and Rafal Leszczyński, voivode of Poznań Voivodeship.

Maria Karolina Zofia Felicja Leszczyńska (23 June 1703 - 24 June 1768) Married Louis XV, King of France and Navarre in 1725.
In 1704, Stanislaw Leszczyński was elected King of Poland when Karl XII, King of Sweden gained this territory in a military campaign. Stanislaw Leszczyński and Katarzyna Opalińska was crowned King and Queen of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the Autumn of 1705, in St. John's Cathedral, Warsaw. In 1709, Stanislas Leszczyński was driven from power when Swedish forces left him without military support. By 1725, the family was living on the charity of the French Court in Weissembourg, in Alsace. Their daughter, Maria Leszczyńska married Louis XV, King of France and Navarre ( 15 February 1710 - 10 May 1774) by proxy on 15 August 1725, at Strasbourg, before they were married in person on 5 September 1725, at Fontainebleau. He was the son of Marie-Adélaïde of Savoy (6 December 1685 - 12 February 1712) and Louis, Duc de Bourgogne. August II the Strong died in 1733. Stanislaw Leszczyński's claim to the Polish Throne led to the War of the Polish Succession. In September 1733, Stanislaw Leszczyński was elected King of Poland for the second time. Russia in alliance with Austria protested and in October 1734, they were ready to besiege Stanislaw Leszczyński, at Danzig. In May 1735, he received French assistance, but they were forced to surrender. The Battles of Danzig capitulated on 30 June 1735. Stanislaw Leszczyński abdicated the throne on 26 January 1736. He received in compensation the Duchy of Lorraine and Bar. Augustus III became the new King of Poland. Katarzyna Opalińska died on 19 March 1747, in Lunéville, France. She was buried in Église Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours, Nancy. Stanislaw Leszczyński died on 23 January 1766, in Lunéville, France. He was buried at Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours, in Nancy. He was later moved to Wawel, Kraków, in Poland. Their daughter, Maria Leszczyńska died on 24 June 1768, at Versailles, France.
