Barbara Campanini was born on 7 June 1721, in Parma. In 1739, Barbara Campanini made her debut dancing in Rameau's Les Fêtes d'Hêbé, at the Paris Opera. Known as La Barberina, she performed at Covent Garden, in London, Dublin, and Wien. In 1743, she returned to Paris. From 1744 to 1748, she danced at the Court Opera, in Berlin. Barbara Campanini married Charles-Louis de Cocceji in 1749. They were separated in 1759. Campanini and Cocceji were divorced in 1788. In 1789, she was given the title, Countess von Barschau after having purchased the Barschau estate, in Silesia. Barbara Campanini died on 7 June 1799, in Silesia.
